Last week we asked the Lord to reveal to us if our desert experiences were due to sins that we had not turned from. Today, we are brought to an entirely different reason for the desert-that we may see the provision of God. When we cannot attribute the meagerness of our surroundings to sin, perhaps God wants to demonstrate His power in meeting our needs is miraculous ways.

One of the characteristics of the desert is that there is a shortage of just about everything except sand and sun (I know that sounds great right about now). In the midst of this desolation everything is difficult and wearying, and leaves us with the feeling, “it should not be like this!” This feeling may be just what we need to being to seek out and to honor the Lord as we should.
