Men’s Retreat 2011
This year’s men’s retreat is going to be awesome! Set in the Pocono mountains, Camp Orchard Hills has a wide range of activities, from a large gymnasium, able to host two full court games at once, to a lake for fishing, to a gameroom for foosball, to trails for hiking.
The dates are October 14-16, 2011. The men’s retreat is going all out, with seven long island free churches involved. We will build strong networks for living out our faith in Christ at church, at home, and at work. This retreat is designed for men aged 18 and up. The recreation will be as rigorous or relaxed as you desire with fishing, sports tournaments, hiking, climbing, or napping.
Our speaker is Geoff Safford, lead pastor at Westwinds Church in Iowa. Geoff and his wife, Deb, are the proud parents of four: Geoff,Hannah, Trent and Naomi. He’s an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, fishing, a wide array of sports, reading and date nights with Deb. Geoff will be sharing with us what God has been teaching him about living with God and not just for him.
There are two FRIDAY OPTIONS for those of you who are able to drive up to the camp early. We HIGHLY recommend using one of the Friday options to increase the connection with other guys, and relieve the stress of travel.
OPTION #1: GOLF- The golfing tee times start at noon at Irem Country Club, Dallas, Pa. Registration for golf is necessary by Oct 1 to secure reservations. If you want to be part of a specific foursome, please indicate on your registration. Dinner will be at the camp.
OPTION #2: AIRSOFT We will meet at the camp at 2pm to make teams, then head down the road to Command Paintball, an 82 acre battlefield. You need to provide your own equipment, including biodegradable pellets. This will rock!
