Youth Rally

Youth Rallies:

We’ve done 5 of these multi-church youth rallies in the past three years. We have three goals 1) Show students that they are not alone as Christians on Long Island. 2) Expose students to great Christian Music. 3) Challenge students to follow strong and hard after Jesus.

Here’s some of the video (we missed the great games) but here is some of The Walking Tree and Brian Davis: We had 10 youth groups and 160 students present this night – it was an incredible night of unity, worship and challenge – (the games were hilarious too)

The Walking Tree did an awesome job at introducing high energy Christian Rock to the groups – I wish they had their EP out, but students loved them.

Rapper Brian Davis (Find on itunes (God’s Servant “Covered”) - I love how well he communicated some profound theology through rap.

Brian Davis also spoke to our group – he is passionate about students not being stagnant – actively growing in Jesus, not just sittingn still.

Past Rallies:

One of the best things for encouraging Christian students is for them to discover that they’re not alone. I love it when students from my youth group can be in the middle of worshiping God and then look to either side of them and recognize other students from their Biology class or Spanish class and know that they are not alone as a Christian in their school or community. A bunch of churches come together to put on these events a couple times a year. I’ve invited some artists that I promise will inspire and challenge our students to know and live for Jesus, we’ll put together an opening praise band from any churches with musicians who are interested. One of the churches will lead hilarious games with prizes – it will be a really wonderful display of unity around the gospel.

When: Friday June 17th from 7:30-9:45PM

Where: at the Dix Hills GYM (multi purpose room)

What: This time we have two really great artist – The Walking Tree and Brian Davis (a rapper from Lamp Mode)

How: Cost FREE, really you can just show up, it’d be great if you’d let Sam know that you’re coming – also contact Sam if you are someone in your youth band is interested in playing in the worship band.
